The purpose of the St. Philip CCW is to extend service and utilize talents where needed; to strive to become a vital force in church, family and community by developing and sharing an enthusiastic Christian attitude, thereby bringing a true spirit of joy into the lives of its members and the lives of others.

Any woman interested in fulfilling the purpose of the Council of Catholic Women is eligible for membership. Each member shall volunteer to participate in one unit function and assist with one fund raising project.

Our organization has close to 200 members. Some belong to Circles that meet monthly and other ladies are general members only. Committees that need your help include: Baking, Telephone, Saturday Thrift Shop, Ways and Means, Hospitality for CCW functions, Receptions, and the Prayer Chain. We work on parish, school, and community related projects. The women sponsor several fundraisers during the year to earn money to support these various projects.

The St. Philip CCW supports our parish by: helping with the Parish Picnic and Superfest; hosting receptions for First Communion, Confirmation, and various other events; supporting the St. Philip Youth Group; buying new vestments; cleaning the altar linens; sewing Baptismal gowns; and praying for the intentions of our parishioners through a prayer chain.

The St. Philip CCW supports the Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools by: contributing funds for the libraries; donating Bibles for the Confirmands; hosting a graduation breakfast and reception; and supporting the National Honor Society and Thanksgiving Breakfast for the Hungry.

The St. Philip CCW supports our local and world community by: making financial donations to Women Helping Women and Crisis Pregnancy Center; collecting food and clothes for: the Franklin Center Pantry and Charitable Union; adopting an Indian child through Fr. Anthony's Kids; participating with Church Women United; and hosting a Senior Citizen Party for Valentine's Day.

The St. Philip CCW's fundraisers include: Phantom Ball, Saturday Thrift Shops (first and third Saturdays of the month), Spring Card Party, Bake Sales, Cook Book Sales, Christmas Raffle, and 50/50s.
