St. Philip Catholic Church - Battle Creek, Michigan

Lectors:
- Lectors must have an open heart and be willing to "struggle with God's Word" and become powerful Proclaimers of God's Word.
- Parishioners who are high school age or older are invited to be part of this ministry.
- Training is required.

Ministers of Hospitality/Ushers
- The ushers help with hospitality issues that facilitate a smooth flow of liturgy and make it a welcoming experience for those who gather.
- Any interested parishioner is invited to be part of this ministry.
- The ministry is important at all masses. The greatest need is at the 4:30PM mass on Sunday.
- A crew works at each weekend and holy day mass.
- They greet parishioners as the enter the Church, assist them in finding seats and meet their needs.
- They collect the offering, participate in the offertory procession, pass out bulletins, and assist in other ways to help ensure that all who come to church are offered a positive experience at the celebration of the mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve Holy Communion in the Eucharist liturgy and to the homebound and those in the hospital.

All practicing Catholics, high school age and above, are invited to be part of this ministry.

Special training is required.

The 11:30 mass is particularly in need of more Ministers of Communion.

Those assisting at mass also help afterward in the cleaning of the sacred vessels.
