WELCOME TO YOUTH MINISTRY HERE AT ST. PHILIP

Youth Ministry here at St. Philip is for all teens in grades 9-12, who want to see their friends and want to grow in their Catholic, Christian faith. We invite you to learn more about your faith, and Catholic heritage in a safe and fun Christian environment.

We know how busy you are these days, but we also know how important it is for you to continue your faith formation, and your involvement in the Parish. We invite you to attend our Youth Group (SPY) sessions on the second Sunday afternoons from 2:30- 4:00 p.m. We also offer a social time, usually on Friday with activities like bowling, dances and seasonal parties. (for example a Halloween and Christmas party) This social time will help you to build relationships with your peers in a Christian atmosphere.

As Disciples of Christ we all need to be involved in some service to those in our community who are in need. A good way to do this is through service projects. Helping serve dinners to the homeless at the Sunday Suppers, visiting nursing homes to cheer up the aged and lonely and working with some of our younger kids to help enrich their faith journey are only a few of the possible opportunities that will be available this year. (Most High School and College's require some type of community service---what a great way to complete that requirement!)

To connect you to parish life we encourage you to become Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Altar Servers, or get involved in the music ministries. Starting in January 2008, the 4:30pm Sunday Mass will be ministered by the youth of the St. Philip Youth group and the St. Philip Campus Ministry. We invite you to come and worship with us.
